ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday assured early payment of arrears to the contractors associated with the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) and the State Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Agency (SERRA).He was talking to a delegation, which called on him here, led by PML-Q leader Marvi Memon and MNA Shahjehan Yousuf.He informed the delegation that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had approved an amount of Rs. 12 billion for welfare of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and payment of arrears to the contractors.Acting Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Tariq Khan and Director General of SERRA Liaquat Ali were also present on the occasion, said a press release.Rehman Malik said after approval of the grant, the matter of payment to the contractors now stands settled.
