Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan Sunday visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of violence-infested North Waziristan Agency taking refuge here and assured them that they will not be left alone in their time of trial.
Talking to media representatives, Imran Khan said he had never known that a military operation would be undertaken and added that he was well aware of the hardships being faced by the IDPs. “The government did not take us onboard prior to going ahead with the plan to launch an operation (in NWA),” he reiterated his complaint.
He said leaving their abodes was not an easy task for the NWA affectees and that so far 700,000 IDPs have migrated from the war-torn region. Imran Khan said he had never imagined such a massive exodus would be witnessed in NWA. –SAMAA
