LAHORE: No guest or visitor will be allowed on the day of election for the leader of the House in the Punjab Assembly on June 6.
Chief Security Officer Punjab Assembly Sardar Muhammad Akbar Nasir said Wednesday that on special directive of Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal, extra-ordinary security arrangements had been made to facilitate the legislators and media.
He said special squads of quick response police and commandoes would be deployed to further beef up security in and around the Punjab Assembly during the election of Chief Minister Punjab.Special metal detectors have been provided to security staff while high tech walk-through gates installed on entry points of the Punjab Assembly have also been made functional.
Close circuit TV network on all important entry and exit points would help checking the movement, he added.Sardar said Walkie Talkie sets had already been provided to security staff deployed at all important entry points in and around the House.He advised the government officials and media men to display their security passes failing which they would be denied access to the Assembly. – DailyTimes
