PIA engineering is also keeping 32 aircraft healthy for safe air travel of the PIA fleet of 38. Five planes are under major maintenance due to Bird hits at Lahore and Karachi needing new engines, one ATR 42-500 that skidded off the main runway few days back due to torrential rains in Lahore, undergoing repairs. PIA 204 Pre-Hajj flight departures to Jeddah and 4 direct flights to Madina will continue till October 20, 2012.
