KARACHI: Senior Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik on Friday called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House.

The law and order situation in Karachi was reviewed in detail, said a statement issued here on Friday. It said that it was decided to take stern action against extortionists, target killers and those sending ‘Parchis’ to traders and shopkeepers. Necessary directives were also given to the police, Rangers and law enforcement agencies.

The Station House Officer (SHO) would be held responsible for the crimes taking place in their respective jurisdictions. All the agencies would also collaborate with the provincial government. The statement further pointed out that special security arrangements would be adopted during the month of Ramazan. It also pointed out that the police would be imparted special training and would be provided with latest weapons. – Dailytimes
