Overcoming multifarious problems: ‘Business community should play its dynamic role’

SIALKOT (September 29 2010): Chief of Pakistan Muslim League -N (PML-N) Mian Nawaz Sharif has stressed upon the business community that they should come forward and play their instrumental role in bringing out the country of multifarious problems.

Addressing a Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s silver jubilee book entitled “Essence of Enterprise” ceremony here on Tuesday at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) he lauded the role of business community of Sialkot for strengthening the national economy with missionary zeal and dedication.Shahbaz Sharif said that under the prevailing situation there was a great need of collective efforts for overcoming our multifarious problems and converting the country into developed state of the world. There is a great need of exploiting the potential in Pakistan and people at this critical juncture for bringing radical changes in every sphere for bringing prosperity in the country, he said.

Nawaz Sharif was of the opinion that terrorism was the result of Musharraf “One Man Show” adding that there was no terrorism in the country if democracy and Parliament had existed. He pledged for eliminating previous mistakes for giving true and due status to Pakistan adding that it was our national duty that we should join our hands to weeding out the menace of terrorism. Nothing has done during Pervez Musharraf’s regime for overcoming the electricity crisis as a result of which productivity and the common man was facing adverse hardships.

The PML-N Chief further said, “if we came into power we will introduce “Economic Reforms” for bring revolutionary changes in every sphere of life”. The proposed economic reforms would help reduce economic stress being confronting by the common citizen and business community in the country. Under the economic reforms the tax ratio would be minimised and extra-ordinary reforms, extra-ordinary efforts would be made for introducing corruption free environment in the country while all corporations would be privatised for making these institution useful profitable, he disclosed.

Nawaz Sharif on this occasion also lauded the efforts of business community for donating generously for flood affected people of the country. Speaking on the occasion Khawaja Muhammad Asif, an MNA said that record development projects are being carried out for banishing the backwardness from ignored and neglected areas of Sialkot. Asif said that it is heartening to note that the ratio of tax and bank loans default is zero in Sialkot as a result of which the banks and other institutions were happily working with the people of Sialkot.

In his address of welcome President SCCI Muhammad Ishaq Butt highlighted various achievements of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Earlier, PML-N Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt Special Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister performed the book lunching ceremony of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s silver jubilee book “Essence of Enterprise – Brecorder
