FBR collecting 70pc taxes from corporate sector: senate body informed

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Broad of Revenue Ansar Javed Monday informed Senate Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics, Planning and Development and Privatization that the FBR was collecting 70 percent from corporate sector.
Chairperson Senator Naseer Jalil chaired the meeting of the committee in Parliament House. The agenda before the committee was to consider and finalize recommendations of the Finance Bill 2013-14 containing the annual Budget statement.FBR Chairman said they provided easy system to tax payers and ensured that every thing should be done according to law.He said FBR will bring new tax payers in the net adding that their complaints would be resolved as soon as possible.
To a question, he agreed with the committee members that gradual tax imposition process will encourage citizens to pay their taxes.The committee member Senator Haji Muhammad Adeel said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the most affected province due to war on terrorism and they need further relief in tax payments.The committee Chairman urged the FBR to simplify the tax paying system and do not put further burden on existing tax payers. – Brecorder
