Multan by-Elections: Polling on October 16

The by-elections in Multan’s National Assembly constituency-149, will be held on October 16. Ballot boxes and stationery have already been transported to Emerson College. 

At least 81 out of 286 polling stations, have been declared as sensitive for vote in Multan seat vacated by Javed Hashmi while addressing joint session of the Parliament on September 02.

According to Regional Election Commissioner Ghulam Israr Khan, the rangers personnel will stand guard on the sensitive polling stations, and the police personnel will be on security duty on other polling stations.  

According to Assistant Commissioner Ashfaqur Rehman, the electoral apparatus will be distributed among the staff of polling stations at 9am tomorrow. Meantime, public holiday has been announced tomorrow (October 16) to facilitate the voters to exercise their right of vote. –SAMAA
