Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed to probe Panama Leaks case, has finalised the third progress report and will submit it in the Supreme Court today (Thursday).
Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Additional Director General Wajid Zia, who is leading JIT, will appear before the three-member bench of the Supreme Court led by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan today to submit third progress report.
Earlier, the JIT finalised the third progress report in the Panama case on Wednesday in its meeting, which are being held daily, at the Federal Judicial Academy.
The third progress report is being prepared in the light of thorough interrogation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and PM’s sons Hussain and Hassan Nawaz.
On the other hand, the JIT probing the Panama Papers case against the Sharif family has Wednesday rejected Captain (r) Safdar’s application of changing the date of his hearing.
According to sources, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law had submitted an application before the JIT to change the hearing date as he planned to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah this week.
The JIT rejected Safdar’s request and directed him to appear on June 24 as per initial orders.
