Pakistan, India decide to open new trade route at Wagah

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and India have agreed to open a new joint trade route at the Wagah border to boost up trade activity after recent foreign secretaries-level talks in Islamabad. This decision was taken during a Pak-India meeting at the Wagah border. Pakistani side was represented by Interior Joint Secretary Shabbir Ahmed, while Joint Secretary Interior KK Mittal led the Indian delegation, reported a private TV channel. The meeting was informed that the new trade route was being opened because trade at the border at Wagah is affected due to the parade and other reasons. The Wagah border would be solely used for parades and entry and exit of delegations with the establishment of new trade route. – Dailytimes
