KARACHI, Sept 8 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday visited a tent in Governor House to witness the packing of Eid gifts for flood affectees of Sindh and their children. He stayed there for some time and packed some gifts alongwith Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan, volunteer students of various professional academic institutions including IBA, Dow Medical University, Karachi University and Mohammad Ali Jinnah University.
On President’s arrival alongwith Sindh Governor, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira in the tent, the volunteers expressed pleasure and greeted him with clapping.
Speaking on the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari lauded the spirit of students and said that this spirit will make new Pakistan. “This is your Pakistan and you have to rebuild it again,” he observed.
He said that the presence of sympathy and care in their hearts for the flood victims is laudable. “The presence of this pain in your heart for your flood-hit brothers and sisters is commendable. I congratulate you,” he remarked.
The President was told that more than 0.1 million gifts which included clothes and food items will be distributed among flood victim before Eid at a cost of Rs 10 million.
