‘Mystic Mantra’, semi-final of musical competition held

LAHORE: The City School Ravi Campus held the semi-final of the Regional Choir Competition ‘Mystic Mantra’ to promote new musical talent and bring forth outstanding singers from The City School.

The theme of the competition was ‘Sufism’, which celebrated works of Sufi poets like Khawaja Ghulam Farid, Sultan Bahu, Baba Bulleh Shah, Sachal Sarmast and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.A total of five teams from the central region of The City School participated in the semi-final and sang melodious songs.While the judges made their final decision, students of Prep Section of the Ravi Campus presented an enchanting dance performance on a medley of Sufi songs.

The team from Ravi Campus, Lahore, won the first prize, whereas the second position was bagged by the Model Town Campus, Lahore, team. The third position was shared by Shalimar Campus, Lahore, and Chenab Campus, Faisalabad.The assistant regional director and regional academic coordinators were also present at the event and highly praised the performances of all participants. The event was organised by Regional Music Coordinator Seeme Laleka. The final competition will be held at Alhamra, Hall 1, at 10:30am on Saturday. – Dailytimes
