New York gears up for Fashion Week

Lincoln Center was the setting for what was being called the largest public fashion show in New York City history.

With Gisele Bundchen and Naomi Campbell leading scores of models off a red double decker bus and through an elegantly lit temporary theater-in-the-round, the estimated 1,500 guests got a look at the styles that Vogue Magazine deemed trendiest for Fall of 2010. It is part of the run-up to Fashion’s Night Out on September 10, 2010 and New York Fashion Week, which starts this week.

Providing entertainment for the evening was Pharrell Williams, the multi-tasking hip hop/R&B musician. Williams ended his performance by escorting Campbell back onto the bus with the other supermodels.

Fashion’s Night Out, which debuted last year, is an evening of shopping-related events sponsored by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to stimulate fashion sales. -Dunyanews
