Athletics meet at PULC

LAHORE: Punjab University Law College’s 134th Athletics Meet ended in a colourful gathering at Law College Ground.
Sameer Uzair Khan performed at the opening ceremony. Hundreds of students participated in the games. Kashif Iqbal who was declared the Best Asian Junior Wrestler took the oath from the athletes and sportsmen. On the second day at the closing ceremony Justice( R) Farrukh Aftab distributed prizes among the students as Chief Guest. He congratulated Abdul Ghafoor who shattered the previous record in High Jump by clearing a distance of 5.73 metres.
The previous record was held by Additional Advocate General Govt of Punjab, Imtiaz Ahmad Kaifi, who set the record at 5.6 metres in 1986. Abdul Ghafoor was declared the best male athlete while Umme Noureen was named best female athlete. Principal, Sameer Uzair Khan, thanked all the official guests, media personnel and students who took part in the games. – PT
